Step Bolts

Step bolts are similar to carriage bolts in appearance, with threaded shafts and a square neck design, but feature a wider, lower profile and rounded heads. The round head shape allows for a smooth, clean finish. The large diameter of the smooth head is beneficial for soft materials, such as pliable wood, as it prevents the bolt from being pulled through. They are commonly used for wood-to-wood or wood-to-metal applications.
